Despair No More

Despair No More

When life takes a turn so menacingly,  to be filled only by sudden DESPAIR. The unendurable pain and sufferings caused by unforeseen circumstances and malicious acts. The outcome of one's future left in the hands of manipulation. The fear of being taunted by those you trusted, staring instead into the faces of strangers.

No longer aware of their true intentions, the mind confused and skeptical of everything it once confidently knew and believed. A muddled mess of half completed thoughts. Left in disbelief of the mangled results that its left sorting aimlessly through.

The body reflecting that of the mind. Uncertain movements and trembling hands. A voice not yours leaving your lips on wavering breath. Hindering your ability to perform in a normal manner. What now seems entirely unmanageable and out of control.

Drifting unsteadily away from reality and slipping into a new uncharted realm of the mind. Losing grip on the reins of all that is considered sane.

Your soul battling to remain whole, as it slowly shatters into a million pieces. Pieces swept into the abyss of nothingness.

No chance of returning to its original shape by any force known to man. An empty vessel sitting atop deep dark waters, unforgiving waves billowing towards it filled with rage.

The vessel hopelessly toppling into the depths of madness. Helplessly sinking further, desperately pleading for its rescue to somehow - any way to!- arrive.

Weight of the unkind world ruthlessly pressing down upon you, smothering any and all cries for help. Echoes unheard and lost to an eternity of solitude.

Yet in the neverending darkness, something so small and nearly diminished is a glimmering of something beautiful and calming. A glimpse- which can't be mistaken for anything else but that of HOPE and OPTIMISM.

A tiny sliver of light, able to sneak through the cracks of negativity, ever so delicately puncturing that which seemed impenetrable.

Witness to none other than a magical happening. The impossible now nearing the sunken vessel. Descending ever so gracefully, like that of a glorious  angel. It nears your outstretched reach, inching frustratingly close.

It manages to brush the tips of your fingers, shaking with utter excitement and impatience. Finally your hands steadying to clutch it tightly to your unrecognizable self.

It is everything good and whole. It is the spirit of hope that had lingered above the turmoil. This force so strong and naturally healing. At last… a sigh of relief and a warming sensation sweeping over every inch of your skin.

There is no magic greater in the whole of the universe. Only good can become of it, and it is yours to keep. As it embraces your mind, body, and soul, the spirit that cannot die begins to lift you upwardly.

Progressing through the obstacles with such ease, you wonder how it can truly be so. How this miracle befell you, when all else had nearly failed you.

The spirit prevails, and pushes through the surface that had contained you a prisoner of your own. The surface below your feet, as it should be.

But it doesn't stop it's flight there; wings of strength and agility pounding against the airs of newfound  freedom. It flies bravely on, closer and closer to an orb in sky.

The soothing sun that you never imagined you could get so close. Your spirit of hope taking a last flap of its enduring wings.

After an exhausting journey, it takes it place; perching on soft whispering cotton balls of clouds. Relaxing at long last with a feeling of purpose and pride.

Humbly looking about at skies of shimmering color, eyeing the horizon ahead. Dreams that are just as real as your flight, the deserved destiny greeting you with open arms.

Joy becomes you, every nerve and cell jolted with  motivation to simply LIVE-unlike you've ever experienced. This is the beginning of a new life. A rewarding one. Now you soar on with confidence; don't you DARE ever look back, my dearest friend.👣💛👣

The injustice of not being heard, seen, validated.

I remember one day in primary school. It must have had quite the impact because I've never forgotten it (40 odd years later, give or take ;-)We were doing some sort of spelling/geography quiz....name a place and ask someone to spell ...

My Experience of Anger to Date...

I haven't felt anger for years, I've managed to numb myself from it.  I was always told to not get angry! A forbidden emotion when I was growing up.  If I did get angry, I was made to feel completely and utterly ashamed w...

The Deepest Sorrow

I wish I felt anything but anger when I see a pregnant woman, affectionately caressing the home in which her baby grows safely. Pain wears the veil of anger so as not to be seen. It buries itself deep in the heart of me where it is safe fr...
