Good day my name is Avron Appollis and I'm from Wellington South Africa. I'm the eldest of 4 children . My mother was a teacher and my father was a boilermaker working half of my childhood away from home. I was caught up in the vicious cycle of addiction for 12 years of my life . Lost everything and start my over again with the little confidence that I had . I started to worked at SANCA and enrolled for a Social Auxilliary Course . I started support groups for people with addiction and alcohol problems  in our community of Drakenstein . Did various courses on Substance Abuse. In got a job in the Department of Social Development of Western Cape Government . I'm working in the Secure Care Centres and Child and Youth Care Centers. This centre's is for youth that got in contact with the law and Youth at risk. With my practical experience I worked my way up as Teamleader and acting supervisor. I'm facilitating prevention, intervention and awareness programmes. I'm currently writing my own lifeskill program "Breaking Barrier". This program complies with the substance abuse act 70 of 2008. I've recently being transferred to De Novo treatment centre for substance abuse. I also on the Local Drug Action Commitee of Drakenstein Municipality. And the committee's main objective is to combat substance abuse in a coordinated manner. The committee reports to the Central Drug Authority which is responsible for the implementation  National Drug Master Plan. Drugs is a epidemic in our community that spreads faster than HIV . All our youth in our facilities primarily reasons for being institutionalized  Is drugs. I'm a front stand when it comes to eradicating drugs. I'm currently doing a course in Child and Youth Care. At Hugenot College.
