I always find that after I have self-harmed I feel refreshed. Like a big weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I don't expect people to understand but I'm sure people know what its like to have a headache? So lets say you have a headache, it hurts so bad but you know that taking 2 paracetamol will take the headache away. You decide you will fight it instead of taking the tablets to help, but it gets worse until you cant take it anymore and you give in. As soon as the tablets have kicked in you feel relief! you wonder why you didn't do it to start with. That's kinda like self harm. you know that your method of harming will make it all better but you fight it. Yes I understand that self harming is a lot more serious than a headache but the reality of it is that most people who self-harm know how to do so in a relatively safe manner.
I had my appointment with my psychiatrist on Thursday. He is sort of worried about me and wants to see me on a monthly basis again instead of 3-6 monthly. He was trying to explain to me about finding something to replace the self-harm but I told him I don't see the self-harm as a problem.
I am quite content with things the way they are just now. I don't feel stressed in any way which is a first for me recently.
