inner critic vs inner therapist

My racing thoughts this morning

My inner critic is like a tabloid headline
"Awfully dressed millenial embarrasses herself in public. Again."

My inner therapist reminds me
You're experiencing some social anxiety.
That's okay.
Everyone feels that way sometimes.

Take a breath.
ButICan'tBreatheThisIsTooMuchAAAaarrgh

I loose patience with myself
Could you just not? 
Just take a deep fucking breath. 
In (count to 4)
And
Out (count to 4)
There. 
See? 
Whatever it is you think you can't do, you probably can.
Fear is not a reason not to do it. 

So go to work. Do the thing. Be anxious if you have to. But don't stop.

And keep fucking breathing. 
Be weird. Be obnoxious. Be the weirdest person there! 

In order to be outstanding, you have to be a misfit
