What does my ideal future look like?

What does my ideal future look like?

The quiet whir of servos

and stepper motors

as my robotic domestic

household assistant washes dishes

and sweeps floors.

The smell of clean

city air fills my lings

as zero-emission cars

sidle by on well-kept streets.

Full buses commute

multitudes of multi-ethnic

living-wage workers

to Union jobs

with great benefits,

accessible facilities

and iron clad

anti-discrimination legislation.

Private schools are bulldozed

or turned into homeless shelters

and community centres.

Golf courses are turned

into public parks,

nature reserves and camp grounds.

The "male/female" checkboxes

on birth certificates are

replaced with love hearts

and infinity symbols.

The crushing exploitation

of the working class

by white collar loan sharks

with ultra-high interest loans

is punishable by

the immutable irony

of being sentenced

to hard labour.

Voting is mandatory.

Borders are opened.

Prisons become rehab centres

and the era of

"For-Profit Humanity"

finally dies.
