Diving in the waves

We swam in the ocean

In October you see

Some may find that foolish

But it made us happy as can be

I buried a dead fish

In the sand

In the sun

I hope it went onwards

To another unknown land

The light on the ocean

Reflected our joy

Playing volleyball

And diving

Holding hands on this land

The splashes, salt and sand

A tenuous decision

To dive in deep

But one we’ll always memorise

Forever to keep.
