Back In The Room

Ground Yourself.

Back in the Room.

4-7-8.

Breathe and

continue.

What was that like for you?

Time stops.

I can no longer disconnect

from my difficulties.

I can no longer disconnect myself

from the words that

tumble out of my mouth.

A Voice. Aloud with

Peace and Pain

Intertwined identity.

I sweat out confessions that unravel from my mind.

My throat is a clogged up drain

of memories I would rather forget.

I speak.

I remember.

I regret it.

Legacy of Altas in my blood

I carry round guilt as my rucksack.

Until Now

Repenting sins

with pen and paper in hand

was always easier -

It meant I didn’t have

to hear my voice,

hear my regurgitated shame

pleading for you

not to think less of me.

My hand writes to make

a safety net.

Somewhere to contain the messy parts of a

 Past

I can no longer disconnect from.

The anaesthetic has gone.

Rusty Tools

I have little faith in my tools. They are rusted, poorly kept, and blunt. As I walk through the wilderness, my pack rattles it's sparse contents, revealing all the hollow spots, the absence. I doubt the rations will se...
